Colour B&W Films With Adobe After FX




1. Open Adobe after FX and open file menu (alt button + f) File Import (option).

2. Drag the imported video to the bottom twice (1 for each layer)

3. Goto pen tool and mask around the face (for example).

4. Toggle mask visibility (button)

5. Goto left panel to change colour balance options!

6. Scroll through footage and check how it looks before rendering.

7. To fix any issues goto initial frame and follow by clicking down arrows and find mask feather & change to 10 pixels (example) and check again through the video!

8. If needed you can move adjust points for mask.

9. Make sure when you animate the mask that you always have path option (above mask feather option).

10. play 5 seconds at a time making sure it all looks how it should.

11. To colour different masked out sections you will need a new adjustment layer Smile.
