KDE install for linux desktop plus effects

To Install latest KDE in Ubuntu/Linux Mint open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the following commands in the Terminal:
[th]Terminal Commands:[/th]

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install kde-standard kubuntu-desktop

If you already have KDE then enter following commands to upgrade:
[th]Terminal Commands:[/th]

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Step 1


sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

Step 2

sudo apt-get update

Step 3
now browse

apt://kubuntu-desktop

in firefox

press y for menu and leave default settings if unsure y = yes

How To Find After You Have Installed?

First Login to KDE at login screen look for a Cog or Drop Down Menu!

Just go to system settings->Desktop Effects -> All Effects, then select any effect you want. Ex: Magic Lamp
